“Outdoor living in Southern California is a way of life and I often refer to these entertaining spaces as the fifth room. Porches, decks, and lanais should flow seamlessly to indoor, and the way I design and plan these spaces for clients takes as much care and thought as the entire home. Outdoor is no longer an afterthought!”

1 | Cover Up
There is nothing more glamorous than a chic cabana and, if clients have the space for one, I always recommend it. No one does it better than TUUCI; they have the best colors, shapes, and sizes to fit all projects. The Grand Pacific in white is one of my favorites. It’s very “Midnight at the Oasis.” tuuci.com
2 | Light Up the Night
Lighting is everything! I have been known to string clean globe lights around an outdoor space, but I also love real candlelight in oversized hurricanes. I love lanterns with driftwood and stainless accents; they are rustic and elegant at the same time. Napa Home & Garden has spectacular offerings in copper and bronze tones as well that play perfectly in my Park City showroom. napahomeandgarden.com
3 | Warm and Cozy
I don’t know about you, but nothing takes the edge off a chilly fall night quite like a fire pit and a glass of hearty red wine. Honestly, everyone is so busy these days, the idea of having to build a fire each night doesn’t really excite me, so I prefer the sleek, contemporary concrete gas flame versions from All Modern. They super hip, easy to use, and with the flick of a switch, you can relax by the fire. allmodern.com
4 | Lounge About
I’m ecstatic to have my new outdoor furniture collection with Castelle in the market place. The classic navy blue and white combination has the coastal look I love, and the gold finials add a bit of a regal finish to the entire collection. barclaybutera.com
5 | Intimate Vibe
Styling an outdoor space should be approached just like any other room in the house, with lots of layers and texture to warm it up and make it cozy and intimate. Outdoor pillows and rugs add texture and dimension to a conversation area. I confess I love making pillows out of my own outdoor fabric collection with Kravet. I layer the rich navy and crisp white patterns with khaki and sand tones and the vibe is perfect! barclaybutera.com
