The oceanfront estate on the private island Indian Creek sold in a record deal for $47 million this past week, officially making it the most expensive home ever sold in Miami-Dade County.
Multiple sources from Forbes to The Wall Street Journal are concluding that this is the most expensive single-family home sale to date. This record sale was made through the cooperation of multiple parties including The Jills and Douglas Elliman New York.
The Alexander Group of Aventura co-brokered the transaction on behalf of the anonymous foreign buyer. “This sale sets the new standard for the Miami Beach luxury market. It is easily one of the most spectacular properties in the world. I am blown away every time I walk through the door,” says real estate agent Jill Eber to NBC News. “This property is a private resort that is a true work of art.”
The property has been on the market for well over two years. Earlier this year, the asking price was reduced to $52 million and although the property was sold for 20 percent less than its original asking price, the luxe amenities that go along with it make this home well worth the pricey investment.
The 30,000-square-foot compound, which was designed by architect Rene Gonzalez, sits on 2 acres of land overlooking Biscayne Bay. Its interior is made up of 10 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms with waterfront views from every room in the house. Among other amenities, there is a 100-foot pool with underwater speakers, several pavilions, a rooftop sky bar, and a wine cellar accessible by finger print identification.
The private 300-acre island, which the house sits on, is also home to celebrities like Julio Iglesias and Adriana Lima, and offers its residents an exclusive 18-hole golf course and country club. However, we think this newly-sold property seems like a resort on its own!
