Twenty nine stories above sea level, overlooking one of Fort LauderdaleÂ’s most magnificent beaches, Retro Interiors creates metropolitan living in a prestigious oceanfront condominium. Reconstructed from the inside out, the owners joined two penthouse units to create a large scale space with soaring 11Â’ ceilings, wondrous ocean views and ample room for entertaining.
Scaled for luxurious modern living, the oversized hallways, voluminous doorways and floor-to-ceiling windows offer gracious views from every room. “The idea was to create a serene, yet sophisticated environment for urban living by drawing the outside in with a color palette of beachfront hues and providing the owners with the feeling of a large scale luxury private home,” says William Philby, ASID.
Retro Interiors fused a traditional design approach with contemporary styling to complete the chic, well-appointed space in the sky. Inside, the architectural details are enhanced with custom millwork to add an elegant touch and sense of scale. The spacious kitchen features Miele appliances for the gourmet chef and is complete with a butlerÂ’s pantry. The floor is clad with oversized polished marble and every room sparkles with exquisite lighting fixtures unique to itÂ’s space. The undulating design in the main living space with wide panoramic views and accents of a Hollywood Deco era highlights the ownersÂ’ collection of rare ErteÂ’ originals.
With room to roam, the luxurious home boasts a state-of-the-art Lutron Smart Home system, den, library, two en-suite guest rooms and a master suite complete with his and hers private baths and a comfortable sitting room. Floor to ceiling rain glass tantalizes guests as they shower facing the soothing sight of the ocean beyond. Large tray ceilings and glamourous accents in each suite compliment the soothing color scheme, creating a flowing transparency from one room to the next.
