Historic Hotel the Base for April 14-19 Cleanse Retreat, Open to Locals and Visitors
For an enlightening retreat with wellness benefits to boot, Harbor View Hotel has teamed with Kitchen Porch, a Martha’s Vineyard-based hub for culinary and agricultural experiences, to offer Metabolic Boot Camp. Nutritionist John Bagnulo and locavore educator and chef Jan Buhrman will teach participants the importance of detoxification through healthy food choices and exercise, all against a scenic Vineyard backdrop.
The program, which was first introduced last year, is priced at $749 and includes a five-day cleanse workshop, hikes throughout the island, all meals, daily yoga classes, and tax.
All workshops will take place at Harbor View Hotel, where visitors from off-island can enjoy award-winning accommodations at a special rate of $99 per night. Through demonstrations, lectures, and delicious take-home recipes, participants in the Metabolic Boot Camp program will learn how – and why – to incorporate more farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, liquids and probiotics into everyday meals. Daily hikes and yoga classes will round out the week, giving guests a chance to reflect and reconnect with themselves while enjoying the benefits of exercise. “Through this program, we are sharing an abundance of information that can go a long way to improving overall wellbeing.
We understand that people are living their lives at an incredibly fast pace, but we want to give them an opportunity to slow down for a few days, while clearing their bodies and minds,” said Buhrman. To book a spot at the workshop or learn more about the Metabolic Boot Camp, please visit www.kitchenporch.com. Reservations for Harbor View Hotel can be made by calling 800-225-6005 or visiting www.harbor-view.com. For those who cannot attend this season’s Metabolic Boot Camp, another will be held from Oct. 20-25 with a focus on movement and exercise.
