Stretching across eight acres along the award-winning Seven Mile Beach, Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa has been one of Grand Cayman’s most sought-after addresses for memorable meetings and events in the Caribbean for the past twenty years. Beginning this summer, the 343-room resort is embarking on a two-phase floor-to-ceiling redesign of its lobby, public spaces, guestrooms and recreation areas.
“Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa is favored by meeting planners for providing a wide array of function spaces, including access to the widest and most expansive area of the famed Seven Mile Beach,” said Area Director of Sales & Marketing Marti Trieschmann. “The renovation will ensure Westin Grand Cayman continues to be a preferred destination for groups of all sizes by heightening guest experience, while also making the resort more competitive in one of the Caribbean’s most popular markets.”
Garcia Stromberg of GS4 Studios, which is based in West Palm Beach, Florida, was commissioned to lead the redesign and renovation of Westin Grand Cayman. The company will introduce more contemporary touches to the property, while preserving its Caribbean sensibility.
Scheduled for completion in December 2016, highlights of phase one include a completely redesigned, open and inviting lobby area that brings the outside in and showcases the resort’s location on the famed Seven Mile Beach. With raised ceilings, a bright, neutral refreshed color palate, and a reimagined Catboat lobby bar, guests will experience a more elevated arrival. Café Soleil, a preferred venue for busy travelers who enjoy on-the-go snacks and refreshments, will be transformed, expanded and relocated to a more convenient location. The resort’s freshwater swimming pool, the island’s largest, fitness center and retail outlets will also be refreshed, marrying modern design with island flair.
In 2017, Westin Grand Cayman will continue its transformation with the renovation of its guestrooms and suites, including a full bathroom remodel and additional public areas. These developments follow the resort’s 2012 enhancement and reinforce Westin Grand Cayman’s positon as the preferred choice for meeting and event planners in the Caribbean.
Throughout the two-phase enhancement, groups will continue to enjoy an elevated experience, including 9,000-square-feet of indoor and 40,000-square-feet of outdoor function spaces, a variety of corporate meeting amenities, and access to the famed Seven Mile Beach. In addition, guests will enjoy traditional and inventive Caribbean dishes at Ferdinand’s and Tortuga Beach Grill and Bar, as well as 24-hour in-room dining. The resort’s continuing commitment to provide unique and memorable meetings and events has recently earned the Westin Grand Cayman a Smart Meetings 2016 Smart Stars Award.
