Even though Miami’s Art Basel starts today, the parties started on Monday!

Monday

Art Basel kicked off with Charlotte McKinney hosting an intimate Casamigos mixology at the Delano Hotel.

Nearby, Les Lalanne at The Raleigh Gardens, a monumental exhibition of work by the artist duo Claude Lalanne and François-Xavier Lalanne, opened with a private viewing held in memory of the artists, who died in April.

Creative Minds Talks brought together world-famous artist Kehinde Wiley and music industry titan Swizz Beatz to New World Center for a dynamic immersive discussion about the state of activism, philanthropy and how to make it in today’s world as a creative. Ticket proceeds benefited Kehinde’s artist residency program, Black Rock.

Art Basel Magazine editor and collector Sue Hostetler and gum heir Beau Wrigley threw at yacht party for collectors and artists alike.

Designer Rachel Zoe with Starwood Capital Founder Barry Sternlicht and ELLE Décor’s Editor-in-Chief Whitney Robinson at a cocktail bash for sustainable design at 1 Hotel South Beach.

Tuesday

Pritzker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano’s Eighty Seven Park opened – a luxury 66-residence building and the only building in Miami nestled between ocean and park. Developed by David Martin, each of the building’s residences comes with a key to the private park, designed by West 8 and located on 87th Street and Collins Avenue.

Don and Mera Rubell moved their collection to a massive 100,000-square-foot industrial space in Allapattah, celebrating the Rubell Collection opening with Vanity Fair and Genesis.

At the former Rubell Collection location, Kids Basel featured nine of the world’s best and youngest artists in the world. Famed artist Peter Tunney snuck out of his Wynwood studio to visit the exhibition, which included Koops’ “POWER Expressions” installation.

Kim Jones’ Dior Men’s Pre-Fall 2020 show, with Shawn Stussy and Air Jordan collaborations, was a coveted celebrity invite, with guests including Bella Hadid, David Beckham, Travis Scott and Winnie Harlow.
