Panama Premiere

ohos09_panama_1Tourism is booming in this once quiet Central American paradise.

There’s a secret brewing in Central America but it’s quickly getting out: Panama is hot and in more ways than one. With multiple islands waiting to be explored, vacationers including celebrities Mel Gibson and Paris Hilton are more mobile here than one might expect. Hotels which aren’t on the mainland are offering their own modes of transportation these days making island hopping a great way to experience the region.

Unique development and investment opportunities seem to blossom monthly. With low property rates (it’s easy to score luxury properties for under a million), many baby boomers interested in stretching their retirement savings are getting more for their dollar. Panama has a lot to offer, and though its cost of living is low, its living standards are high. The Pearl Islands are getting a steady stream of renovations. The Trump Ocean Club, Viverlos Resort (with Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course), and the new Nikki Beach Resort and Residences are making a portion of this once quiet indigenous culture suddenly far more streamlined.

The Canal Expansion Project is expected to bring in $14 billion by 2014. Private islands for sale typically run for $1 to $4 million. With sandy beaches, shopping, lush jungle countryside, and the political will to make the tourism industry flourish, this is an exciting time to visit Panama.
