GETTING THERE:
TRAINS, PLANES & AUTOMOBILES
FROM NEW YORK CITY
Depending on the season and traffic, it can take 90 minutes to four hours to drive from New York City to The Hamptons. You can also go by regular Jitney bus service (www.hamptonjitney.com) or Long Island Rail Road (www.mta.info/lirr).
For a fast and fashionable arrival, Blade is an Uber-like helicopter service offering flights from Manhattan to East Hampton (www.flyblade.com), or you can opt for a scenic seaplane flight from NYC to Shelter Island operated by StndAIR (www.stndair.com).
Be aware, however, you’ll definitely need a car if you want to explore The Hamptons and all it has to offer.
FROM BOSTON
Take I-95 south to the New London ferry terminal and the Cross Sound Ferry to Orient Point on Long Island’s North Fork. You can shortcut to Sag Harbor on local ferries, via Shelter Island and North Haven, or drive through the charming Long Island wine country around Great Peconic Bay, via Riverhead and Hampton Bays.
